Privacy Policy

For the PDF Reader - AI Organizer app · Last updated: 8 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how OttoArk (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles information in the PDF Reader - AI Organizer mobile application (the “App”). We designed the App to keep your documents on your device by default. Please read this policy together with the disclosures we provide on the app store listing.

1. Summary

2. Information We Process

a) Your documents and files. The App reads documents on your device to display, annotate, merge, split, organize, scan, translate, or classify them at your request. The “All files access” permission is used solely to list and open documents on your device. Files are processed locally and are not uploaded to us. Scanned documents you create are saved to your device (Downloads).

b) On-device AI organization. The App uses an on-device model to group documents into categories. This processing happens locally on your device; the content used for grouping is not sent to us.

c) Optional cloud AI (bring-your-own-key). If you enable “Advanced AI naming”, file names and short content snippets (not the files themselves) are sent to Google Gemini to generate category names. If you use “Ask AI”, the current document, your questions, and the conversation context are sent to Google Gemini so it can answer. These features use your own Google Gemini API key, which is stored only on your device. This data is processed by Google under Google’s Privacy Policy and the Gemini API terms. We do not receive or store this content.

d) Google ML Kit features. Document scanning, language detection, translation, and OCR (text recognition) use Google ML Kit. Models are downloaded once via Google Play services and processing then runs on your device. See the ML Kit terms.

e) Analytics. The App uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the App is used so we can improve it. It collects app-usage events (for example, when AI organization, Ask AI, or translation are used), a Firebase app-instance identifier, and device and app information (such as device model, operating-system version, language/region, and approximate location derived from your IP address). This information may be associated with device identifiers. See Firebase Privacy and how Google uses data.

f) Advertising. The free version of the App shows ads served by Google AdMob and, through AdMob mediation and bidding, partner ad networks such as Meta Audience Network. To serve, personalize (where permitted), and measure ads, these partners may collect device information, your device’s advertising identifier (Advertising ID), IP address, approximate location derived from your IP address, and information about your interactions with ads. In the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, personalized ads are shown only with your consent, collected through a consent dialog when you launch the App; you can change or withdraw your consent at any time in the App under Settings → Ad privacy. See how Google uses data in advertising and the Meta Privacy Policy. If you purchase the ad-free upgrade, the App stops requesting ads entirely.

g) In-app purchase (remove ads). The App offers a one-time purchase that removes all ads, processed by Google Play. We do not receive or store your payment details; the App only receives the purchase state needed to unlock the ad-free experience. See Google’s Privacy Policy.

3. How We Use Information

4. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Information is shared only with the service providers needed to deliver the features above: Google (Gemini — only with your own key; ML Kit; Firebase; AdMob; Google Play billing) and, when ads are shown, AdMob mediation partners such as Meta Audience Network. Each processes data under its own policy linked above. We may disclose information if required by law.

5. Data Retention

Your documents and your API key remain on your device under your control; uninstalling the App removes app data from your device. Data processed by third parties (e.g., Google) is retained per their policies.

6. Your Choices & Rights

7. Children

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the age required by your local law), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

8. Security

We rely on your device’s security and the security of the third-party services listed above. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

9. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version at this URL and update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the App means you accept the updated policy.
